China Town @.@ Happy Friday Night Market

I went to China Town last Friday... and spent hours looking through street shops in the Night Market...

There was even lion dancing... lollies....all sorts of different Asian food at a really cheap and reasonable price!  It was YUMMY... there was even Coconut juice!..^-^

There I crushed into one of my Magician Friend (Jonathan) who was performing Magic in the Night Market.. His learnt lots of new tricks to show me... and his audience were pretty amused. I was going out with my friends so didn't have time to stay for very long, but there I filmed his favorite trick to perform which gets people to drop their chins ALL the time！

St. Johns College......You will get wet

Well what can i say about about the infamous John's College. It is just AWESOME!!!!! I must warn you though that if you plan to go, i wouldnt advise wearing your sunday best. The place is just crazy. I rocked up at about 8:30 becasue there was a game of rugby on which we all went down to watch.

By about 9 after having a few drinks under our belt we were eready for the party to begin. We were at the college pub Called the Dail, and let me just say its a palce you must go before youre old and gray. with beers only costing $2 even those making virtually nothing from the uni jobs will be able to have a great night out.

The theme for the party was "Out of Africa" so of course there were many people dressed up in all crazy sorts of outfits. Me being an 'outsider' i chose not to dress to the theme however made the smart choice of wearing an old t-shirt and jeans. As the night progressed all of the college stereo types began to emerge. there was the party animal (or animals), the footy guys who weren't allowed to drink, the was indie group who were smoking 'banned substances' in the corner, and finally the girls who simply could not stand up.

By now it was midnight and the Dail had shut. this means only one thing...... The Grose. For those who dont know (and until a couple of weeks ago i was one of them) a college night consists of going to any pub that was close and staying there until kicked out. this would then go on until the headaches would kcik in which would mean it was time to go to bed. All in all i strongly reccomend going to any of the college parties, although if drinking copious amounts and being loud is not your thing then i reccomend that you avoid. It was completly up my alley but to anyone going i give one bit of advice.......... Bring a change of clothes becasue you will get wet!!!!!!!!!

Jackson's on George/Lowenbrau/Chinese Laundry

Hey kids,

This is the one place we always seem to end up at when all else fails in the city... it looks like a glorified RSL, there's way too much smoke on the dancefloor and the cages look a bit tacky but the fact the lines are almost non-existent and it's central location means it's an attractive option @ 2.30am on a Sunday morning when you're undecided on where to go next... oh and the $15 1 litre cocktail jugs don't hurt either!

You enter the club in a dark side alleyway off George Street where you are met by a group of surprisingly friendly group of bouncers who generally let you in regardless of what state you're inebriation you're in and enter what looks like Broken Hill RSL; smells like old beer, full of pokies and TAB screens all round. But then you walk up a flight of stairs and there is a bustling street level bar but we move upstairs to the 'night club'. It's pretty small and fairly packed and the smoke machine is always on overdrive to the point you can't see anything and breathing becomes quite a chore but the beats get those body's moving. Also smokers can be excited at the fact there is a fairly large outdoor courtyard upstairs quite close to the bar.

Earlier in the night we went to a German beer cafe located in Argyle Street in the Rocks, a favourite little haunt called the Lowenbrau. Who wouldn't love a place where you are served by a busty blonde German woman in traditional Bavarian attire ;) Even better is the fact that upstairs there is a busy bar upstairs, uberbar. This place has a beer list about 30 pages long and even with the non-beer drinkers out there they can experiment with mango or lemon-flavoured beers. Also helps that they're served in 1 litre beer steins :)

So we then end our night at a club called Chinese Laundry located underneath the historic Slip Inn. Personally my favourite thing about this place is the stamp you get on your arm... it's invisible but when you hold it under an ultraviolet light you can see it, haha but enough of my immaturity. The cover charge ($25) is a bit pricey for what it is but a good night is usually guaranteed. There are multiple dancefloors and bar and being in an EXTREMELY old building the hallways are way too narrow, the rooms are way too small but that just ends up meaning that the place gets nice and crowded :) But another amazing thing about the place is... what for it... there is a sitting room full of pillows which plays 'Land Before Time' movies on repeat.

But yeh visiting all these places in the one night guarantees a nice, messy night and a very long bus ride back to the Hills...

--- Ramen Kan --- Re-visit

As explained in Stanly's Post Earlier, I'm pretty sure everyone who reads our post would have already gotten a basic idea of that Japanese Restaurant.

However, this afternoon, me and Stanly went out with friends, and we all had lunch there.

I thought I would take a few more pictures, and show you the extravagant interior design of the Restaurant.

Kai-sen Don, my Favorite, every time I pay my visit, its usually because i miss this Kai-sen Don and want to have another bite... ;) you should try it some time, steamed rice with salmon and tuna.... hmmmmmm.... how yummy is that??

Usually all their noodles are with either Pork soup or Chicken soup base, personally I think the pork soup base tastes better... i.e. in this picture, this noodle is with pork soup base! ^-^

Calpis Water, haha, my Favorite... me and my friends would go there all the time ordering it... Oh... another really popular drink which you should most definitely keep in mind is their "Green Tea Milk" that's THE BOMB... =D a little overpriced though...

There is their address if you would like to visit them some times, they have 2 separate stores, their both in city, Takaru is on Sussex Street, it serves pretty much the same things, but there you have an option of getting food in a half size proportion... You know how some people like to try little of each varieties? YAP ...there's your option!! although it works out to be a little more expensive then getting the normal size ...but its worth it if you like to try a variety! :)

Here's a quick snap shot out their menu, as you can see all the prices are pretty reasonable...pretty much all around the $10 to $11 marks.

Love the theme of the whole rope and Straw design... I think its pretty unique and cool

One of the better places to sing Karaoke with friends since all the equipment is new and you can also get food there as well which saves you the time from going out and buying the food.

One of the bad thing about that place is Alcohol, the house policy doesn't allow B.Y.O , no alcohol are allowed to be brought in ... It may only be purchased from the House... As you would have imaged, like any other places in City, Alcohol is a bit over priced there, and there sell pre-mixed drink combinations in jugs.

However, if you are going there with friends, and everyone is chipping in for it, it is still affordable with a decent amount of jugs you may purchase.

The Price to sing there is pretty reasonable, the prices are calculated per heads. They have student discounts 7days expect for Friday and Saturday 8pm - 4am, but beside from there, it's always $10 per person for 2 hours which is pretty reasonable, if you don't have an student ID card, it will be an extra $5 dollars, so it will be $15 per person for 2 hours.

Overall, it is a pretty good place to go chill out and have fun with friends... if they are good singer?!

Beauty of Sydney's Night City

Finally finished croupier Training at Star City on Friday. Both Roulette and Blackjack school has both been successfully completed. Me and my colleagues along with our Trainers all went to Duffy's Pub as we finish off our Graduation day for a big night celebration.

Duffy's was pretty fun with Karaoke nights on Fridays, the drinks aren't that much to value though... There's no shots available, there's no double shot drinks i.e long island ice-tea and etc... Clearly they want their customers to take it slow?? If you're looking for a night out, want to have fun but clearly don't want to get completely wasted....then Duffy's not bad!

Lots of beers??.... Heineken I see there.... ^^ I didn't drink beer though, because I'm not a big Fan of Beers. Lord... we're were all there till 6am.... what a bunch of crazy people we are?!....

I was in the Blackjack team, as a class we've bought our Trainer some thoughtful presents, i.e a oxford tie for work, and a Connor scarf... warm and trendy, ready for winter. ^^ As for the Roulette team, well.... they've brought many surprises to their trainer, because of their trainers out going personally theres lots of chocolate to melt her down... yum yum...

Can't wait to be on the Main Gaming Floor, so much more excitement ahead of us, so many new people to meet...

Albee's Kitchen Malaysian Delight

just went to this place the other and the hainanese chicken rice was really nice. Compared to many of the many other Malaysian restaurants out there i believe albee's kitchen maintains the flavor of Malaysia in their food, so if you want good hainanese chicken rice then definitely go here.

Ramen Kan China Town

Yesterday me and Snowie went to Ramen Kan located in some dodgy alley way right across Sydney entertainment center. The food there is always pretty good and the price is a bit to the expensive side of things. If you want to eat there for 2 people and have an entrée main and dessert it will cost you about $50-60 .

The ramen there taste very good, but there is always not enough since the serve for their ramen is very small. But if you go there and want to try something that is very tasty and special then kaisen don is the way to go.

[ 水屋 ] <---- Mizuya City

Me and many of my friends , went out to city, and we decided to try this new restaurant we saw ---> Mizuya

The place is pretty crowed all the time with heaps of people ... the food doesn't come as fast as many other restaurant because it is pretty busy most of the times. However, the food doesn't come in mass quantity though, so you go with a lot of people, and all of you are hungry, it surely will cost a bit to fill all of you guys up.

Though the foods not bad, it is not the most "value for money" you can find in city.

The restaurant is also a karaoke, so it is a place where you can stay for more then just food.

I'm pretty sure they have English songs there as well, however possibly not as many as Japanese songs hence it is a Japanese Restaurant and Karaoke ^^

It is surely not a bad place to go for outing with friends, its pretty loud in there, seems like everyone is enjoying them selves and of course having fun.

They have all sorts of alcoholic drinks, they have a bar there, if you would like to try their 'Star Sign Cocktail'?.... I thought that was pretty cool...

Look at the yummy egg... as if you don't wanna dig in >.<

i liked the design of their plates etc...

They had a cool ordering system...

College Parties

World Bar... definitely not the world's best bar

On Easter Thursday a few friends and myself headed into the Cross for a big night out as none of us had to work the next day. Problem was the rest of Sydney had the same idea and we didn't get in until after midnight so the choices of where we could actually go were quite limited.

We managed to eventually find a queue that wasn't too long which happened to be for World Bar, a club set in a beautiful Victorian-era building on Bayswater Road. Finally we made it to the front of the queue where we eventually subjected to an interrogation of Guantanamo proportions. One of my friends, a girl who look identical to her licence photo, was stared at continuously, told to recite her licence details, have it scanned with a blue light, made to sign a notepad to match the signature until about 15 minutes later he finally let us in. All that aside it seemed alright from there on... entry was cheap ($10) and once inside there was some good indie DJ's pumping out some good tunes. But then the worst part of the night came...

We decided to head up to the top level where there was a good dancefloor and booths surrounding it where you could just chill but then we attempted to go to the bar. Somehow someone thought it was a great idea to only have one freaking person on the bar on EASTER THURSDAY - which I would imagine being one of the busiest nights of the year? 45 minutes later I finally got my beer and my friends got their $17 teapots which tasted pretty good but you only got a few shot glasses out of them which, even for the Cross, could hardly justify the cost.

Noticing that the line was not easing and that our sobriety would remain in this place having to wait so freaking long for our drinks, we decided to call it a night which was pretty disappointing because there aren't too many Fridays I do manage to get off.

I reckon this place has the potential to be alright but the staffing levels were SHOCKING and I'd question myself before going there again.

Hurricanes's Bar & Grill

Me and my friends have made a monthly tradition of going to the "infamous" Hurricanes Bar and Grill and Bondi Beach. This for me is always one of the best nights of the week as it is a chance for me to catch up with friends whilst enjoying a lovely meal.

The reason i enjoy going to dinner at Hurricanes is it is not just a meal..... It's an EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!

My friends and me will normally meet up at Bondi Beach at around 6 and sneak in a cheecky game of touch before hand, needless to say by the time we get to dinner we are normally a bit hot and bothered.

Then the extravagansa can begin. As soon as we take our seats we are greeted with prompt and friendly service which makes the experience more comforting. The normally international waiter takes our orders and then the fun can begin. After a couple of rounds under our belt we are all ready to begin the 'mission' that lies ahead!!!!

Whilst one of the boys was telling of the events that transpired the previous weekend, we are confronted with a daunting rack of pork ribs, enough to fill anyman (or woman).

The joking and laughing that previously bellowed from our corner table, had now ceased as all 8 of us had becomed consumed by the meal that lay in front of us.

After probably 35 minutes of solid eating and after losing a few men along the way, the final 5 of us threw in the towel after a solid effort which saw us accomplish what we had set out to do.

All in all it was a great night. laughs were had, bellies were filled, and the mental strength of all involved was tested.

I strongly reccomend the Hurricane's Bar and grill to any of you desiring a challenge, or just wanting a great night out.

Japanese Restaurant -----> Manmaruya

Stanly and I went to one of our favourite Japanese restaurant today --> Manmaruya

From what I remember, we’ve been often visit this place every fortnight or so ever since it opened. The good was really good, and the cooks are all Japanese, and the food was pretty authentic, it not like many other Japanese Restaurants owned by Koreans, personally to me, I don’t like it as much, because it still seems really Korean style from the layout and the decoration of the restaurant involves too many traditional Korean aspect.

Seriously, if I felt like Korean food, it would have straight away gone to a Korean restaurant instead??

But any way, the layout of the Restaurant was unique and tidy, with Japanese Cherry Blossoms inside, feels like you’re really in Japan! ^^

Two positive aspects about the restaurant which I like are the fact that, on every table there are customer feedback sheet. I think this is a really good way to the how their customers truly think of the restaurant, and thereby provides the correct guideline to rooms for improvement.

Secondly, there is self service water and cups in the middle of the restaurant, taking into consideration that the restaurant is so busy all the time, customer can easily help themselves for simple things like water so they don’t need to wait for it.

Overall, I love the food there, and would most probably visit it every now and then.
Please don’t be jealous looking at our foods, we’re going to dig in now… いただきます
